On his first day of school we walked up to his teacher and took a picture. I had a two second conversation with Mrs. Stewart and I turned around to say good-bye..Cameron just left my side and started playing on the play ground. I had to call him over to me to give him a big hug and a kiss.
During "center time" he is very impressed with "calendar time" because Mrs. Stewart asks about the weather every day. That is something he did not do in preschool. You know our weather is always so different in July, August, September, October.HOT!!!
Besides Mrs. Stewart, he has four additional new teachers in music, library, PE and computers. In music, he learned the song, "This Land is Your Land" and how to clap and stomp to the beat. Cameron has informed me that his favorite teacher is his music teacher Mr. C. He loves music! He learned how to hum to a song and was one of the three "star" students in his class. He
had great listening ears! Library time was not as exciting because he could not touch the books just yet. During PE they played a game and he actually won the game. Whoa! He said computers was pretty cool and next week he actually gets to go to a website which should be interesting because he already has about 20 favorites on his computer at home.
Cameron has been ready for Kindergarten since he was almost three years old and he definitely has found his "niche". I pray that his enthusiasm continues towards school for at least 21 more years.
I asked him the first day if he missed me just a little and said, "No, it was so much fun!" Made me a little sad but joyful to know that he enjoys school so much. I know the tables will turn on me when I take Carter to his first day of Kindergarten.
